Fruit Garden

There is still time to plant bare rooted fruit trees & bushes

Fruit trees may benefit from some fresh compost & general fertiliser such as fish, blood and bone 

Trees & Shrubs

Cut back Cornus (dogwood) & Willow (Salix)

Prune back large flowering clematis, roses & early flowering shrubs

Re-locate small trees in your garden if desired & feed with a balanced fertiliser such as growmore or fish, blood & bone

Prune wisteria & hardy evergreen hedges

Glasshouse

On warmer days open greenhouse doors, windows & vents

Re-pot any plants that have grown to big for there initial pots

Check plants to see whether they would benefit from watering

Lawncare

Mowing can take place on drier days if required

Apply a high nitrogen feed to lawns towards the end of the month

Straighten lawn edges with a half-moon iron

Lay turf on the ground if the ground isn't to wet or frosty

Pest Control

Protect new spring shoots from slugs & snails start putting slug pellets down now

Control weeds before they get out of hand

 Spray roses to prevent pests blighting your plants

Vine weevil start to become active this month - treat if necessary
